Here, we publish exclusively the short stories of ambitious, unpublished writers—those daring enough to put ink to vision and send their words into the open air. Like our namesake, the Mountain Jay, this journal exists to seek, gather, and elevate what might otherwise go unseen: sharp prose, fearless storytelling, and the quiet brilliance of emerging talent. Each week brings a fresh ascent—new characters, new worlds, new risks taken on the page. This is a place for discovery, for momentum, for the electric moment when a writer realizes their work can soar.
