About

Tendon is a literary magazine publishing work at the intersection of arts and the health humanities. Founded in 2018 and edited by a collective of writers, scholars, and artists, Tendon seeks poetry, prose, visual art, and critical perspectives that pulse with vulnerability, precision, and insight. We are especially interested in work shaped by illness, disability, intimacy, care, kinship, medical worlds, and social rupture.
Tendon is based in Baltimore and supported by the Johns Hopkins Center for Medical Humanities & Social Medicine. In partnership with Johns Hopkins, Tendon hosts occasional live events, readings, and collaborations across disciplines.
