The Astorian About The Astorian is a New York–based literary journal devoted to prose and poetry written with durability in mind.We publish writing in the Anglo-American tradition of letters attentive to form, cadence, and clarity, and animated by a belief that literature should aspire beyond the moment in which it is written. Our interest lies in prioritization of craft over novelty for its own sake. We favor structures that endure and a recognition of the weight of what has come before. We welcome fiction, essays, and poetry that engage seriously with style, whether through established forms or through new work that demonstrates a clear awareness of them.
