The Aurora Journal This project is on indefinite hiatus. Check their site to find out whether this is a submission and/or publication hiatus. (August 2023) We list other projects with similar titles. Please check that you report any submissions under the correct listing. About The Aurora Journal publishes surrealistic poetry and prose. Inspired by the Aurora Borealis, we look for writing that is surreal, ethereal, and dreamy, and explores the dangerous limits of surrealism. Regardless of age, experience, or any other defining factor, the Journal considers all writers. We acknowledge that the literary field is dominated by cisgender, white, males and those are often the voices that receive authenticity and notability. We encourage submissions from LGBTQ+, BIPOC, women, non-binary, trans people, disabled folks, and other intersecting marginalized writers. This is a platform for you to break the mold of who gets to be "acclaimed" in the literary world. The Journal was founded in 2020 by Sophie Chiang for emerging writers who show great promise.
