The Axe Factory

This project is believed to be defunct. (May 2017)

About

The Axe Factory is a quarterly online literary journal that publishes contemporary poetry, prose, and visual art in any 2D medium. We curate each edition of "The Axe Factory" like a gallery exhibition--drawing together pieces in various styles and media that complement and offset each other. We do not predetermine the "theme" but rather arrive at a collection over time. Axe Factory Press was co-founded in 2014 by Kenyon Grant and Kelsey E. Moore. With their combined backgrounds in art, literature, curatorial studies, and nonprofit administration, they were driven to create a platform to support the budding careers of their peers and those like them. Their journal's name --The Axe Factory -- pays tribute to the Collins Company Axe Factory of Collinsville, Connecticut. The factory, which opened in 1826, is located on the Farmington River. The brick buildings, spillway, and dams were much-loved landmarks of their childhood.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.)
