The Banana King Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About The Banana King seeks short fiction and nonfiction essays between 500 and 3,000 words in length. Realism is emphasized, but experimental structures are encouraged and exceptions will be made for more surreal or fantastic stories that bring greater understanding to real human experience. Humor, weird characters, strange situations, and a strong voice are some of the things I look for in a good story.
