The Chessstories Project A project of Louffa Press (see other related projects). Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About The Chessstories project (sponsored by Artspire, a program of the New York Foundation for the Arts) is announcing an open call for submissions for vaguely chess themed works. Stories should be fifty words or less, punchy, brave, and finely crafted. That's correct, fifty words. As with all Louffa publications, it is about the language. The theme connected to the game or culture of chess is secondary, even tertiary. Chess may be only a minor backdrop. Power, strategy, sacrifice, tactics used outside of the world of chess -- these may be just as pervasive as themes. Chess is a design element, not the overarching point of this book.
