About

Welcome to The Cleveland Review, a new online literary magazine showcasing Rust Belt arts. The Rust Belt has long been flailing in the economic mire that the rest of the country is just now sinking into. We believe that the economic downturn of America could act as a catalyst for the emergence of Rust Belt fiction as a genre, and we see renewed opportunity for a return to the regionalist literary movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Cleveland Review will be a quarterly exploration into the Midwestern psyche – one part slack-jawed enthusiasm, two parts nonchalant despair. We aim to showcase regional talent in fiction, literary nonfiction, photography, illustration, and anything else that piques our interest.
