I'd like to provide an updated vision statement, as well as updated submission guidelines:
The Dilettante is a home for creative work made from passion and curiosity: poetry, fiction, essays, and visual art from artists of every background and experience level, with a particular tilt towards independent, interdisciplinary, and nontraditional voices. We believe personal expression is never made in a vacuum: it carries who you are, where you're from, and the world you're making it in. We're not looking for a specific angle—just a perspective that's authentically yours. We seek to put disparate forms in dialogue to reflect on how identity, culture, and circumstance surface in what we create.
