The Dundee Review Fledgling Listing: This project is new and has been listed with us for less than six months. About Once home to a young Mary Shelley (then known as Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin), Dundee, a Scottish city, has long revelled in the gothic imagination. Local legends of demons and sea monsters abound – not forgetting the story of the nine maidens and the dragon (and hence the nine wells). In the 1831 introduction to Frankenstein, Shelley wrote:“My habitual residence was on the blank and dreary northern shores of the Tay, near Dundee. Blank and dreary on retrospection I call them; they were not so to me then. They were the eyry of freedom, and the pleasant region where unheeded I could commune with the creatures of my fancy.”We could not have put it better ourselves – this is our ethos. We publish all forms and styles of Gothic short fiction, including tales of terror and wonder, horror, crime, dark romance, science fiction, speculative fiction, the weird or the fantastical.
