About The oldest meaning of the Greek-derived word "ekphrasis" is "out of speech" or "out of expression." It is used to denote the age old tradition of writing inspired from art. Ekphrastic defines the world broadly for its own purposes- any writing or kind of work of art about another work of art. In other words, our focus is on the intersection of writing and art, but will also acknowledge that symphonies, films, etc are sometimes their own kinds of expressions about art. Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions, and they do not offer monetary payment for accepted submissions. The fee is CAD $5.
