About

Writing is hard. It should be. Getting heard should be a little bit easier. Unfortunately, emerging writers often don’t get the exposure they deserve unless they become their own marketing department. And who wants to do that? The Other Stories is a platform for writers to share original work of any genre. We interview writers about their writing, they read a story, and we talk about it. With the help of Mike Cahill, our technical director and composer, the podcast is fully produced and the stories are scored with original music, adding atmosphere to make the experience slightly more than a dry read. Our goal is to make submissions blind once we’re able to set up for that. For now, however, we guarantee there will be no biases regarding age, race or racial identity, gender, sex, sexual orientation, political views, or genre. The Other Stories will feature good writing and good stories, whether they discuss mermaids in the sea or married couples in Brooklyn.
