About

The Shakespeare Newsletter was founded in 1951 by Professor Louis Marder, who had developed the publication into a widely-read Shakespearean resource by the time he retired as Professor of English at the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle. In 2020, The Shakespeare Newsletter transitioned to an all-digital platform. This new format will serve its new primary mission: to act as a hub for studies in Shakespeare and the early modern world for students, professors, scholars, practitioners, teachers, and enthusiasts.
