THEODATE This project is on indefinite hiatus. Check their site to find out whether this is a submission and/or publication hiatus. About At the beginning of the twentieth century, Theodate Pope Riddle—architect, art collector, friend to artists and writers—designed Hill-Stead, her family's estate in Farmington, Connecticut. In 1946, she willed it to continue as an art museum and cultural resource for the public. In 1992, under the auspices of Hill-Stead Museum, poet/editor Rennie McQuilkin hosted, in Hill-Stead's spacious sunken garden, the inaugural Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, a summer festival that, over two decades, has featured many of the country's leading poets, including several poets laureate. Building upon this extraordinary foundation of place, art, and poetry, Hill-Stead Museum is delighted to sponsor THEODATE, an on-line poetry journal, making year-round and world-wide what has been seasonal and site-specific. In the spirit of Theodate Pope Riddle and the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, THEODATE publishes a diverse selection of new works by emerging and established poets. Welcome, one and all!
