About

Vital Minutiae Quarterly is a magazine focused on the creative process and method behind any and all artistic creations. We were founded by and are currently run by Rowan Crosthwaite. This is a passion project brewing in the catacombs of Rowan’s brain for almost two decades, finally scrabbling up to the light of day in this, the crazy year of 2023. The founding principle of VMQ is an obsession with the quirks and details behind artists and their creations, the little things that others may not understand but are imperative to each unique creative process. Vital Minutiae Quarterly wants to collect and curate writing and art that is focused on the creative process. We invite submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, reviews, interviews, visual art about the creative process, and images of physical art.
