About

MOLT is a new literary journal based in the principles of honesty and simplicity. We believe that good writing deserves to be read, regardless of who wrote it or how many pages we have left. (We resolved this issue by abandoning pages altogether.) We hope to provide a voice for emerging writers, especially those whose work falls in the gap between “mainstream” and “alternative” writing—which in contemporary literature is alarmingly wide. We are also committed to responding personally to every submission, opening a channel of communication between writers and editors. In addition to publishing stories and poems year-round online, each January we will publish an annual e-book compilation of everything published in the previous year.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
