About

Asbury Pulp.com is a website delivered to a world-wide audience from the heart and soul of Monmouth County, New Jersey – downtown Asbury Park. Asbury Pulp begins where the sidewalks start and ends where the high-end meet the down-low at the water’s edge. Its reporters and writers believe this dynamic borderland is best expressed through an eclectic mix of editorial, audio and visual stories served with a sense of style and humor. We cover culture with a vengeance to produce Asbury Pulp – Fact and Fiction on the Jersey Shore.

Fiction Believed Defunct

Asbury Pulp publishes the finest original flash fiction from both emerging and established authors. As our name indicates, we love pulp fiction and, even more, when it’s combined with literary sophistication. However, we’re open to all genres of fiction (literary, urban, Western, Weird Tale, fantasy, SF, magical realism, Humor, YA, etc.). Our chief concern is publishing the most thoughtful, well-crafted stories we can find, regardless of form or content. We’re looking for work that uses language in unique and arresting ways. We look for clean, evocative prose; a distinct narrative voice; strong dialogue; brevity; and most of all, a complete, polished story with rhythm and thrust that is also intellectually and emotionally stimulating. Ask yourself what’s really at stake in your story, then consider and edit your work carefully before submitting.
