About

Cairn Press was established to publish remarkable books by writers who are finding it difficult to get the attention of bigger publishers. We care about extraordinary fiction. Though we’re not the biggest or oldest house, we know a good book will find readers and readers will find the book. Our approach of publishing in both print and multiple digital formats will garner the largest possible audience, customized for each author. Our aim is to publish one remarkable book per year. If we can publish more, we will... but we're only a handful of people with jobs and children and messy love affairs and such.

During our open submission period, we seek remarkable, completed, fine-tuned fiction manuscripts. We prefer novels, but great short story collections that have a sense of unity (most do not) are always welcome. We look for prose that rises off the page, characters that infect our dreams, stories that alter us.
