Emmerson Street Press This project is believed to be defunct. (September 2013) About Emmerson Street Press is eager to read the work of the vibrant creative people that we know are out there; writers who are proud to be a part of the centuries old literary tradition; writers who have been looking for a place to have their work welcomed. Country of Publication Canada Publication Medium Print Publication Print Publication Collapse section Fiction Believed Defunct While we primarily see ourselves as publishers of literary fiction, we are also extremely open-minded. We love the work of William Gaddis, James Joyce, David Markson, Thomas Pynchon, Italo Calvino, Kathy Acker, Harry Mathews, Samuel Beckett and others that push boundaries, but we also enjoy the more straight-forward styles of Robertson Davies, W.P. Kinsella, Johnathan Franzen, William Spackman, John Updike, A.S. Byatt and others. We love writers with edge. We are not opposed to genre fiction, but demand that the work be of high literary merit. We would be happy to read work from the next Samuel Delaney, Theodore Sturgeon or H.P. Lovecraft. In short, we are after well-written books and favour those that have at least a touch of the avant garde.Audience:UnknownGenres: Open to all/most Genres, including: GeneralLengths: Novel: No specific word count limits known (our definition: more than 40000 words).Styles:Literary.Topics:None found.Payment:No monetary advance + Unknown royalties No monetary advance. We also know that there is a lot of great work being written at this very moment and we'd love to take a look.
