About

Signature Editions is a literary publishing house committed to preserving our distinctive Canadian identity through the publication of Canadian writing of literary merit. Begun in 1986 as a collective at Concordia University under the name Nuage Editions, the press became a three-person partnership the next year, and in 1991 became a sole proprietorship. In 1997, the press relocated to Winnipeg and in 2001 changed its name to Signature Editions. In 2014 Signature Editions was incorporated. It publishes, on average, seven to ten titles a year, which are released in both print and ebook formats.
Drawing on talent from across the country, the press has always aimed for a balanced mix of genres and gender. Over the years we have established solid lists in literary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama and translation, and have worked to cultivate and support the careers of many writers, both established and emerging. We are unabashedly literary and are proud to say that our eclectic list of quality books continues to garner regional, national, and international literary awards.
