Somos en escrito Press A project of Somos en escrito Magazine (see other related projects). About We are an indie press out of Berkeley, California, dedicated to the empowerment of Native, Chicana/ox and Raza writers. Somos en escrito Magazine and Somos en escrito Literary Foundation Press champions historically underrepresented voices that reflect the diverse realities and needs of our communities. We invite both emerging and established Native, Chicana/ox and Raza writers to send us their best work: authors whose transformative narratives break oppressive cycles and call others to action. Our editors welcome both non- fiction and fiction works (including speculative fiction, fantasy, horror, etc) of novels, novellas, memoirs, short story collections, anthologies, poetry chapbooks and full-length poetry collections. The fiction books we publish go hand in hand with our nonfiction books, in that they all allow our readers to do more than gaze in the mirror, but also make valuable contributions to deeper conversations on a future where our gente not only exists, but thrives.
