(November 2015) About VAO Publishing is a division of the 501(c)(3) non-profit Valley Artist Outreach. Our mission is to promote both the voices of writers in the Río Grande Valley and the literacy of Hispanics in general. VAO Publishing is interested in releasing a small number of titles from local authors every year. There isn’t a specific genre that we want to promote more than any other: we simply want to provide a venue for the expression of local writers with a compelling story and voice.
