Country United States AI Policy Unknown AI policy Collapse section Fiction Temp Closed For middle-grade I am looking for a great voice, and a great main character who could potentially carry a series. This could be contemporary, or light fantasy. I like a bit of magic, suspended disbelief, and I do believe in fairies. I love dogs and horses—but not when bad things happen to them! For YA, I love contemporary coming of age, fantasy grounded in reality, near-future dystopia, and high-concept speculative. I love psychological thrillers that push the envelope, truly twisty mysteries, and literary ghost stories. I am not interested in typical paranormal, however. I love Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and Virginia Woolf—and anything with a hook like this. I also love The Parent Trap and Jurassic Park. I am looking for both high-concept hooks, and a great voice. Trying something new, I am also open to women’s fiction and memoir. For all of the above, I’d love to see diverse and BIPOC voices.Audience:Children, Middle grades, Young adults.Genres: General Open to all/most Subgenres, including: Magic Realism, Women's Fiction Fantasy Open to all/most Subgenres Horror Open to all/most Subgenres Romance Open to all/most Subgenres, including: Romantic Comedy Science Fiction Open to all/most Subgenres Suspense/Thriller Open to all/most Subgenres, including: PsychologicalLengths: NovelStyles:Open to all/most Styles, including: Literary, Mainstream.Topics: Open to all/most Topics.Submissions:Method: Email. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
