Camille’s career in publishing has spanned more than 10 years and many places across the UK, thus far. She started as an office assistant at the Scottish schools publishing division of Hodder Education, based in Paisley, and spent more than three years as Editorial Assistant on the Language Learning list at Routledge (Didcot). She was Rights Executive and Digital Content Editor at the audio publisher, Bolinda (Newbury) before being selected for the Felicity Bryan Agency internship in 2019 (Oxford). She worked at one of the leading London literary agencies, David Higham Associates, as Agent’s Assistant to Jane Gregory and within the Children’s Translation Rights team for more than three years. In 2023, Camille joined Diamond Kahn and Woods Literary Agency as Junior Agent.
Camille has an MSc in Publishing from Edinburgh Napier University and an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She was Secretary of the Association of Authors’ Agents, as well as co-founder and Co-Chair for the AAA’s Bridge Committee for early career agents and assistants, from late 2021 to early 2024.

Middle Grade
In middle grade, I’m looking for stories that balance heart, humour, and adventure, with a strong sense of voice and emotional truth. I love books that feel inventive and magical while staying grounded in relationships — whether that’s the witty, found-family dynamic of Lockwood & Co, the lyrical poignancy of October, October, or the sisterly bonds at the heart of A Pinch of Magic. Folkloric fantasy that feels timeless and atmospheric always appeals to me (The Girl Who Drank the Moon, The House with Chicken Legs), as do stories that mix comedy and heart like Time Travelling with a
Hamster. I’m also drawn to sparkling, glamorous series that celebrate inclusivity and friendship, such as Connie Glynn’s The Rosewood Chronicles, and to bold, contemporary fantasy adventures like Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun.
Young Adult
In YA, I’m drawn to books with emotional intensity, atmosphere, and compelling relationships at their core. Romance is always a hook for me — whether it’s star-crossed, slow-burn, or a twist on enemies-to-lovers — but I also want layered friendships, sibling bonds, and chosen families.
In romantasy, I’m drawn to books with real tension and romantic stakes (Throne of Glass, These Infinite Threads, Serpent & Dove, Shadow and Bone). I also love speculative and dystopian fiction that pairs big ideas with character-driven
storytelling (The Hunger Games, Cinder, Legend). In thrillers, I love tightly plotted, voicey mysteries with high stakes (One of Us Is Lying, This Book Kills, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, The Inheritance Games).
I’m also drawn to contemporary novels that explore resilience, love, and identity. This can be dark and powerful (You’d Be Home Now, The Eternal Return of Clara Hart) or luminous, life-affirming and unusual (I’ll Give You the Sun, The Great Godden). I also enjoy joyful, romantic YA (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Joya Goffney) alongside fun, high-concept hooks (American Royals).
Adult
In adult fiction, I’m especially drawn to stories with strong character arcs, emotional intensity, and relationships at the core — books that sweep me up with their atmosphere and leave me invested in both the drama and the romance.
I’m particularly interested in romance in all its forms. In romantasy, I love books that combine atmosphere, magic, and a deeply felt romantic arc with high emotional stakes (Fourth Wing, The Crimson Moth). In contemporary romance, I’m drawn to stories with a strong hook and great writing, like Beach Read or Every Summer After, as well as to more commercial, flirty romances (Ali Hazelwood, Elle Kennedy, Lynn Painter). I also enjoy distinctive romances that bring fresh perspectives — from the heartfelt neurodiverse lens of Helen Hoang to the lush, dramatic glamour of Crazy Rich Asians. I tend to favour drama and intensity over the purely “cosy,” and I’m equally happy when that includes spice on the page.
I also enjoy historical fiction with atmosphere, drama, and strong relationships. This might be lush and romantic (Bridgerton), stark and haunting (The Mercies), glamorous and layered (Daisy Jones & The Six), or gothic and unsettling
(The Familiars). I’m also drawn to historical fantasy with a romantic thread, such as Olivia Atwater’s Half a Soul, where period atmosphere is blended with magic, wit, and heart.
Beyond this, I like fantasy that’s elegant and character-driven rather than sprawling epics (The Name of the Wind, the Daevabad trilogy).
I am generally not the right fit for space operas, very military-heavy fantasy or historical fiction, or for highly literary fiction, which I believe is better served by agents specialising in that area.

In non-fiction, I’m drawn to books that combine big ideas with human resonance. I’m particularly interested in projects that sit at the intersection of science, society, and storytelling — books that make us see the world differently, but do so in an accessible, compelling way.
I love non-fiction with a strong sense of urgency and relevance, whether that’s feminist perspectives (Invisible Women, The Gendered Brain), cultural critiques of how we live and work (Deep Work, Quiet, Why We Sleep), or explorations of our
relationship with the natural world (Entangled Life, Braiding Sweetgrass). What unites the books I love is that they bring together clarity, insight, and resonance — leaving the reader both informed and changed.
I am generally not open to memoir, unless the work is also achieving one of these aims — using the personal to
illuminate broader cultural, scientific, or social questions.
