About

Hope Is Not Passive is a science fiction and fantasy anthology that explores hope as something chosen, protected, and enacted—even in hostile worlds.
These stories sit at the intersection of endurance and resolve, imagining futures shaped not only by power or destiny, but by persistence, care, and moral courage.
We are seeking stories where hope is not an abstract ideal, but a deliberate act.
Hope Is Not Passive is a benefit anthology created to support organizations providing legal aid and direct support to immigrant families navigating detention, deportation, and asylum processes in the United States.
These stories are not required to be explicitly political or tied to contemporary events. We are looking for speculative fiction where the themes of care, protection, resistance, and community emerge through character, worldbuilding, and narrative choices.
