About

The tragic deaths of queer people of color in Orlando has affected many of us. The loss of queer and trans voices in the United States and around the world remains a major human rights issue. To this end, we are publishing an anthology, titled Pulse/Pulso, that honors their lives and mobilizes a discussion of change and acceptance. This anthology is an attempt to reaffirm and contribute to a conversation that is emerging as the powerful, throbbing, visceral need of the hour, re-sketching the walls of history with its brisk, vibrant strokes. We often turn to literature to heal, share, feel and connect to the events surrounding us, and to translate our grief, loss, anger and hurt into something tangible that demands a purpose, that familiarizes and connects them to the emotions of others. This is what we wish to achieve through the anthology.
