About

Bristol Noir is an independent not for profit indie publisher of curiously dark fiction, poetry and dirty realism. Founded by Bristol-based author, designer and artist John Bowie.

Bristol Noir evolved out of John’s constant need to write and create. Inspired by the writing of Bukowski, the grit of the city and a longing for the harsh landscapes of his Northumberland home, it finally arrived in 2017.

Initially set up as a creative outlet, for writing and artwork, it has rapidly grown into its own publishing label and popular e-zine showcasing the best new and established authors, worldwide.

Bristol Noir is proud to support existing and new writers that don’t necessarily fit into the mainstream crime sections. Through its e-zine, it aims to publish, poetry, fiction, interviews and short stories showcasing exciting writing.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions, and they do not offer monetary payment for accepted submissions. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.)
The fee range is GBP £10 to £15 (above average for magazines that charge).
