About

We are a world between possibilities. Not Utopia, not yet, but not quite Dystopia either. We’re Subtopian, still waiting to see which way this pendulum swings. Founded and maintained by authors Trevor Richardson and Kirby Light, The Subtopian Magazine is a futurist magazine that focuses on an intersection of science fiction and journalism, telling stories from the future about what is happening today. The Subtopian also publishes fiction and poetry, movie, music, and book reviews, and serializes novels. It’s been said that writing dystopian futures is easy, writing utopia is what’s hard. We can all envision a desolate future, but a bright future where everything is ideal, that is hard to imagine. If we could imagine it we could get there. It’s seeing it that’s hard.
