The Passionfruit Press

A project of The Passionfruit Review (see other related projects).

Fledgling Listing: This project is new and has been listed with us for less than six months.

About

We are drawn to contemporary poetry that is intentional and meticulous in its use of language. Take a look at previous issues of our journal, The Passionfruit Review, for an idea of the kind of thing we might be interested in publishing – but know that we are also keen to hear new voices and to broaden our horizons. We are particularly keen on poetry that contends with love (which we want to interpret as broadly, interestingly, and as tenuously as possible – again, check out the Review), but we welcome anything that strikes you as worth writing, whether that’s an exploration of hope, home, a particularly compelling mollusc, and/or local or global politics.

We will give preference to manuscripts which feel cohesive and coherent in their narrative, style, or thematic contentions (though they needn’t do all three). We are open to publishing emerging poets as well as more established voices.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions. (Note: About 14% of publishers always charge fees.)
The fee is GBP £5 (below average for publishers that charge).

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • For book publishers, it is standard to submit a cover letter, synopsis, and sample instead of the full manuscript. Do this unless otherwise instructed.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
