ASYLUMANIA

A project of Wicked Shadow Press (see other related projects).

Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions (July 2026). We provide the following information as an archive.

About

There are places where the walls remember, where screams absorb inside stones, where forgotten patients walk crumbling corridors ages after death, where treatments are actually torture, and where reality itself begins to unravel.

Wicked Shadow Press invites submissions for ASYLUMANIA (Expected release: August). an anthology dedicated to the infinite terrors lurking within asylums, sanitariums, psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other institutions of confinement and care gone horribly wrong.

We seek stories that explore the fear, mystery and darkness associated with these places. Haunted wards. Abandoned institutions. Experimental treatments. Psychological breakdowns. Unreliable narrators. Human monsters in positions of authority. Supernatural horrors feeding on human vulnerability. We want stories that disturb, unsettle and linger long after the last word…
