Homesickness and Exile Anthology A project of The Emma Press (see other related projects). Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About We are looking for poems to feature in an anthology about homesickness and exile, inspired by the Roman poet Ovid’s Tristia and due out in September 2014. Ovid wrote the Tristia after he was banished from Rome for committing some light treason (perhaps), and the poems contain reflections on his lost home and circle of friends, pleas to the Emperor to let him return, and dejected descriptions of his icy new habitat. We want to expand the focus in our book to include meditations by multiple poets on themes such as identity, belonging, emigration, holidays, exile of all varieties, and the meaning of ‘home’.
