About

The Head & The Hand Press is seeking your stories of regrowth and renewal in the debut issue of its almanac series, The Rust Belt Rising Almanac. We're calling for creative work in the form of fiction, narrative nonfiction and visual art that tells the stories of America's post-industrial cities - from Detroit to Philadelphia - once called "the foundry of the nation," now known as the Rust Belt. We want to hear about the people working to rebuild these cities, whether they're scraping the rust off of factories or liberating shuttered buildings. These are the people asking, "How do we start over?" and The Rust Belt Rising Almanac is a collection of the stories, philosophies, and creations that are making the Rust Belt rise again.
