You risk a prompt decline if you don't. We will think it's rude of you if you have obviously not read our policies. It's great if you have pets or interesting weekend hobbies but we are not interested in them. Boredom can be instantaneous. But there are other reasons for a decline. We are striking a balance on Litbreak. Maybe we have had a piece similar to yours. In that case, we might decline. We try not to publish what we have already published.Dennis Haritou, Managing Editor on 23 February 2023How much do you edit an accepted piece prior to publication?We will correct obvious typos without consulting the author. Although if it's a novel excerpt, we will tell the writer so they can correct their manuscript. We may have questions about a sentence or about phrasing. If we don't like something about the narrative we may request a change. We expect submissions to be pub ready.
