Tigerpetal Press exclusively publishes handcrafted poetry and short fiction chapbooks in small print runs. Every book is created and stitched entirely by hand.

Submitted in PDF or Word format. I prefer submissions that include a title page with all relevant information, and work that is easy to read.

I don't need a full cover letter, but I appreciate it if authors include any accolades they may have. I'd love to know if and how they're involved in the local writing community as well.

Since the submissions I receive are small, I read the entirety of each one. I read every piece and grade them based on a ranking system I've devised, and the best match receives the publishing contract. All others, no matter how close they are, are unfortunately rejected, but I always try to include some honest feedback to the authors and poets submitting to me.

I read through the entire piece and then grade it based on a few factors: how well it fits Tigerpetal Press's identity, overall quality of the work, preparedness, cohesiveness, and whether I have a vision for where the piece can go. The best match is accepted.

I don't typically need to do substantive editing on a piece, but I will provide any editing I believe the work may need before publication. The author has full control over any changes to the story, and if any of the copyedits were made without understanding of the context. The author also has control over the book's design if they have any requests.

Not currently, as my schedule is far too busy to remember to do this most of the time, but I'm hoping to look more into national and international awards in future.

I promote publications through social media, through attending artisan and Christmas markets to sell in person, and through the authors who publish with me.
