I joined Curtis Brown in 2018, after a couple of years in editorial at an independent publisher in Edinburgh. I now work alongside Felicity Blunt on her list of talented authors, and I am building my own list. I love working editorially with writers on their manuscripts - it is one of my favourite parts of my job.

I’m on the hunt for contemporary stories of love and friendship told with humour, heart and sizzling chemistry (think Rye Lane, Evenings and Weekends, The Rachel Incident, Deep Cuts, anything by Emily Henry); immersive, funny, moving family dramas (The Bee Sting, The Gathering, Homegoing - and I loved the film Sentimental Value); and clever, twisty, layered thrillers/mysteries and detective stories (The God of the Woods, Tana French’s Dublin Murders series, Dept. Q). I don't represent fantasy, but I am open to a fun speculative twist (I enjoyed the recent a24 rom-com Eternity) and unsettling, chilling stories that explore the occult (Andrew Michael Hurley's The Loney is a favourite).
In summary: I'm looking for character-driven stories across all genres that explore rich, complicated family dynamics, enduring friendships, love affairs, coming of age, the best and worst things we do for love. I always want to read about the relationships that shape - or even define - a life. An unusual, high-pressure or niche setting is a plus, and if a novel can make me laugh, I am sold.
