We pair pieces of varying art forms but similar themes in order to juxtapose two means of creativity and interpretation. We think it is beautiful how a certain movement in a dance piece can hold an underlying meaning similar to punctuation in a poem or instrument choice in a song. It is rare to find a full collection that represents the entire creative spectrum, and we are proud to bring multimedia arts to a level playing field with traditionally published work.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 12 January 2022What is the best advice you can give people who are considering submitting work to your publication?The best advice I can give is to be authentic, vulnerable, and true to your own passion and experience. We love art that touches our souls and opens our mind to a new perspective.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 12 January 2022What do submitters most often get wrong about your submissions process?The main deviations I see from our submission guidelines are submitting more than three poems or visual art pieces and also mislabeling the subject line of their submission email.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 12 January 2022How much do you want to know about the person submitting to you?We prefer not to know too much about the person submitting in order to avoid bias in our selection process.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 13 January 2022If you publish writing, how much of a piece do you read before making the decision to reject it?I can tell very quickly if a poem is not a good fit for our publication. As for short stories or scripts, it depends. If I don't like the style of writing, I can tell within the first page of work. However, endings are fairly important to me, so I typically read the rest all the way to the end.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 13 January 2022What additional evaluations, if any, does a piece go through before it is accepted?It goes through the eyes of our short stories editor first, and then I give each piece final approval.Madison Foster, Editor-in-Chief on 13 January 2022How much do you edit an accepted piece prior to publication?We have a very collaborative editing process. Our editors make suggestions and comments on writing pieces through Google Docs. We give our accepted creators the option of accepting our suggestions or commenting back the reason why they do not want to make those changes. Our short stories editor even hops on the phone with each of our story or script writers to discuss more in-depth revisions when needed.Our visual and multimedia editors reach out to their accepted creators with any edits regarding lighting, sound, or overall image/video quality.
