we publish shortish (truly lyric) poetry, as well as poetry translated from chinese into english.

we prefer shortish poetry that contains something special, be it an image, an idea, or a use of language, something called 'poetry eye' in the chinese literary tradition.

3 to 5 carefully crafted, well-proofread and truly lyric poems, each offering the reader something unique, freshening or inspiring.

they fail to follow the guidelines, or have simply never bothered to read them before sending their work.

not really. we care more about the work itself than about its author.

we seldom read every piece to the end; we can usually decide if the piece is right or not for us within the first half of it.

when we feel hesitant about a piece, we may try to check the author's literary background.

usually, i would devote a whole morning or afternoon to reading the subs, and make the decisions right away when there are quite a lot in the inbox within a certain period of time, say, 2 or 3 weeks.

minimum, unless it's obviously a typo. we tend to ignore those pieces with careless grammatical errors, like "its" for "it's", "'your" for "you're'" or the other way around...
