What other current publications (or publishers) do you admire most?

We're a proud member of the independent publishing community.

If you publish writing, who are your favorite writers? If you publish art, who are your favorite artists?

I don't play favorites!

What sets your publication apart from others that publish similar material?

Each of our titles interprets our mission in its own way.

What is the best advice you can give people who are considering submitting work to your publication?

Please take a careful look at our site and previously published titles.

Describe the ideal submission.

One that is well written and reflects an understanding of who we are.

What do submitters most often get wrong about your submissions process?

We don't publish memoir or popular reference so please keep that in mind.

How much do you want to know about the person submitting to you?

Publishing track record or relevant experience (including education) is important to list.

If you publish writing, how much of a piece do you read before making the decision to reject it?

It depends on how convincing the writing is--the more convincing the proposal, the more of it we'll read.

What additional evaluations, if any, does a piece go through before it is accepted?

In house discussion

What is a day in the life of an editor like for you?

Submission reading is done after all other urgent daily tasks are attended to--often on editors' own time.
