What sets your publication apart from others that publish similar material?

Non-profit, Blue Ridge Mountains and donates to a women's shelter in SW Virginia yearly. 44 years old, was borne out of writing workshops for abused women.

What is the best advice you can give people who are considering submitting work to your publication?

Get one of our journals and review it for yourself. We encourage first-time writers and artists as well as established writers and artists.

A poem or piece of art that has been thoroughly edited and vetted.

What do submitters most often get wrong about your submissions process?

They miss the theme or submit a piece that is not polished

If you publish writing, how much of a piece do you read before making the decision to reject it?

What additional evaluations, if any, does a piece go through before it is accepted?

We have a team of editors reviewing the work.

What is a day in the life of an editor like for you?

Sorting through the submissions and sending them to appropriate editors. The editors vote on the pieces to come to a consensus of what will go in the next journal.

How much do you edit an accepted piece prior to publication?

We do basic proofreading and will suggest some editing to the writers.
