We are truly the only one of our kind, again we are all things barroom , but we publish everything about the nightlife and show many different sides.
And the fact we publish daily.
We are open to all writers first timers and established we give everyone a fair chance.

Read the work published at the Whiskey.
And remember just because you mention whiskey, in your work doesn't mean it is getting in.
I love poems to tell some sort of story and if I truly cannot grasp what it is your saying it probaly will not get in.
We are a pro drinking crowd work can truly be about anything if I dig it then I publish it.
There truly is no formula.
Read folks who have been published there often and please get I am the editor. This mag was created and is ran by me and I am only one person so remember if it takes awhile to get back to you it is not personal I run several mags and it's all me doing so .

First in word doc, or in the body of the email with a bio and attached authors pic.
It drives me crazy having to ask for what you should already know I need for the mag.
Again there is no formula for getting in but keep in mind I do not publish religious rants and this is not the evening news so I usally do not publish deeply political work.
But I do consider most anything you never know until you submit.

That there is a big group of people running the place.
It's me and I get a ton of submissions everyday.
So just because I do not get back to you right away does not mean it's a no.
Also that work has to be about whiskey.
Look at what I publish its all different.
So show me your best work.

A cover letter is always nice I do prefer some manners.
I'm not a machine so say hello first.
Please read the guidelines.
A bio and publication credits always matters to me you have to take this serious and if you don't take your submission serious why should I?
But just because you have a big list of credits does not mean your getting in again, it's about the work to me.
So please submit.

I read everything to the end.
I generally know from the first few lines if something is connecting with me.
But I give every submission equal respect.

After I read something I also consider when I can publish a piece .
We are extremely busy so now I tend to only take one from a writer as the waiting list is long .
But honestly after my choice to publish something that's pretty much it.

Busy!!, I stand as the editor in chief of.
The Abyss, Drinkers Only , Under The Bleachers , The Black Shamrock Magazine, and also run Whiskey City Press.
So I am one of the more busy editors it's not surprising for my day to start early usally nine in the morning and not end until the wee hours of the morning.
And in between that I write as well so I am always constantly working.

I preffer to not change a writers work therefore what I publish is thier vision.
I will change or correct a mistake if I notice it.
But I do not believe it is my place or job, to tell people how they should write.
I either accept or pass on work.
And if I can fix something I do so without making a preduction about it.
But I never change anything without a writers permission.

I do nominate writers for best of the net and will also be nominating writers for the Pushcart this year.
